Positively Fifth Street by James McManus tells the story of his writing assignment to cover Binion’s World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. As it turned out, he got lucky, very lucky with his cards and did quite well for himself in the tournament. It starts out with the gory murder of Ted Binion and sets out the glitz and glamour of the tournament against the seamy underbelly of the city. There is plenty of detail on poker technique and the styles of the different players to keep aficionados entertained.

Dave’sBlog:
I’m a journalist; I am now writing a novel. It has a couple of scenes with poker games. I am looking for a professional poker player — or quasi-professional — who know a great dealabout the game (I don’t) to go over these poker scenes. It wouldn’t take much time, on the phone. I could really use the help. I live in Manhattan.
I would greatly appreciate your help Abby Green
